I am using a cm19a and X10 Commander to control my lighting. The RF receiver is the V572A driving an XTB 523. I have a CM15a driving an XTB for running macros. Its RF output is disabled! It is not connected to a PC except when programming it. My problem is that when issuing a dim command , the last light turned on dims rather than the light selected. If i use the cm15a as an activity monitor to check if the correct command gets received, it does yet the last light turned on is the one that dims. I have also tried controlling the cm19a directly with ahcmd.exe rather than x10 Commander and get the same results. Anybody know what's going on?

ahcmd.exe was primarily created to show possibilities of the AHP SDK and a test tool. it was never intended to be used for complex commands.
It has never performed well with stringed commands.
I'm unsure how X10 commander uses the SDK if it is actually using the ahcmd.exe and not the activehomescript.dll then that is the issue.
Have you tried using the Cm15 with X10commander directly? This would help to narrow down what was going on.

Can you verify that the first command is the Unit Code command? It sounds like only the House Code and operation command is being sent. ie " House Code A DIM" When it should be: "Unit Code 1", followed by "House Code A DIM".

cm15a with x10 Commander works normally. cm19a with x10 commander doesn't. It looks like from the AHP activity monitor that a unit code is not sent when trying to dim another light with it. Is this a defective cm19a or a known issue with them? I landed here with this issue after spending many hours on the X10 Commander forum with its designer Melloware trying to sort it out. Others have not reported this issue there and x10 commander has been around 10 years. The issue is the same whether I use x10 Commander with cm19a or ahcmd.exe with cm19a. Or could it be a problem with the v572A/XTB523?

As a test set the cm15 to transceive specific housecodes and make sure the all housecodes are selected
Take the v572A/XTB523 out of service and run some tests.
if you experience the same issue it is the cm19.
You don't state how old your Cm19 is and with x10wti having a rep for changing things with out documentation, it is possible this is the way your cm19 was designed to work. ::) :'

Took v572a/XBT523 and cm15a out of service and tested with rr501 transceiver module and have same issue. My cm19a is many years old but just put into service. So do you think if I order a new cm19a from X10 it won't have this issue?

that's not the test I asked you to perform we know the Cm15 works correctly adding something else just tells us the rr501 does the same the issue may be the trancievers My cm19a is many years old but just put into service. So do you think if I order a new cm19a from X10 it won't have this issue?
I can't be 100% sure! What is the reason behind using the cm19 with a different transceiver then the Cm15?
The Cm15 only sends RF when told to do so.

ok. Took v572a/XBT523 out of service and tested with cm19a and the CM15a module set up in transceive mode as you suggested. Still have same issue.
-
When you tested the CM15 with x10commander was it on the PC that the dim commands fail from?
If so it would appear the issue is the cm19 as no one else has reported the issue.

I tried both controllers with x10 Commander on 2 PCs. cm15a dims properly on both. cm19a does not on both.

Thanks for all the help! Ordered a new cm19a today!

New cm19a exhibits the same issue so I guess its either systemic to cm19a or there is another problem!
