Title: Appliance module chatter
Post by: Emerogork on February 19, 2024, 02:47:48 AM
With nothing connected to the module, Why does it chatter when hitting On or Off?  I understand a capacitor can fix this.

What is the load type that is causing the internal relay to chatter?
It maybe the load is causing this to happen but knowing the load type should help in finding a fix.
An AC rated capacitor or maybe a snubber may help but we need to know the load.

@Emerogork says nothing connected so maybe adding a load would help but I used to just toss them when that happened.

Missed the no load connected.  B:(

Sounds like the modules on off sensor. That determines if the ratchet relay is On or Off before pulsing the ratchet relay.
Is causing the ratchet to pulse a few times to try and determinant its on or off state.
If the ratchet relay did not go on when it should. It maybe jammed or contacts are pitted and not going On.
I have seen this mostly when turning On but was not sensed.
If it was jammed or ratchet broken. It probably chatters with both an on or off.
