Title: WM100 loses M-F schedule
Post by: cjeman on May 30, 2024, 05:01:03 PM
For some reason, without any pattern, my WM100 loses the M-F schedule on some devices and changes them to "once" with M-F unchecked.  Other devices (same type) remain unchanged. This has happened 2 or 3 times since replacing my CM15A with this device. Firmware is current and so is the Android App. I have the app on multiple Android devices but use one for WM100 maintenance.

Mostly light sources. House code A & B. M-F with some dawn/dusk combos along with firm times. Nothing fancy. Could I have a faulty WM100? It has been on the shelf for a few years.

I have used X10 for the last 30 years and my trusty CM15A had no issues, just a pita to plug in and adjust. The Android app is a breeze, compared.

It is possible the WM100 is faulty.
I'll reach out to see what the company thinks.
I still use my CM15A which I embeded a pi zeroW  into.
The pi runs HomeGenie which has a Android app so it is just as easy to use as the WM100  but with extra benifits.
I also use the WM100 but find it isn't as reliable as the trusty CM15A  >!

I heard back from x10 and they haven't heard of this before. However they did say it could be related to dusk dawn settings.
Seems if location settings of your phone is disabled this affects dusk dawn and since you mentioned your setup also used these I wonder if that maybe the issue.

One other thing since you use multiple phones with the app besure all have location services turned on not just your one used for maintenance.

I threw in the towel, bought another WM100 and transferred the settings. I see that the device is at version level V0.0.27, which I assume is the most current. I tried to perform a firmware check and I get a an update error of ErrorCode FILE_DOWNLOSD_EXCEPTION.

Hopefully, the loss of some schedules will be a thing of the past.

You have the most recent firmware. Not sure why your getting a download error when checking for a newer version. Unless maybe your phone is trying to connect 5ghz. instead of 2.

The phone is always on 2.4 and my old WM100 is on this same release.

I think I found the problem with losing schedules. The M-F schedules are/were marked Once instead of Weekly. I never lost a single day weekly schedule. I made the M-F device schedules Weekly. I have refreshed settings from the Hub a few times, all the schedules are there and the WM100 has not missed a beat.

Kind of embarrassing. I am retired IT and always preached to my users to RTFM. I need to practice more of what I preached...

I can officially retire my CM15A.

Thanks for your help...

I personally wouldn't retire the CM15A just plug it in,in an out of the way place then it is always ready to go for back up. As well it adds x10 RF to your setup which the WM100 can't do. >!
