Hello, On my system I have 2 way
modules...Yet everytime I load up the AHP,
all the modules are at the off position
even though the lamps themselves are
on...isnt there an auto-poll feature or
something that keeps a live status of what
all my modules are at? rather than having
to click poll on each individual module?
-
I have the same question.
I don't keep AHP running all the time, I
close it when I'm not using it.
The CM15A runs all the timers properly.
Lights turn on and off correctly. If I open
AHP, it shows lights on that the 15 has
turned off.
The question asked by Javier and myself is
"Why does AHP not poll the CM15A to correctly
show the module status?
-
As long as the X10 Device Network Service is
running, the status of devices in AHP should
be kept up to date. I'll run a few timers
here to test and see if something isn't being
processed up to the UI correctly.

"As long as the X10 Device Network Service
is running,"
Suppose the PC is turned off, and one turns
it back on, and starts AHP - should it be
able to figure out the status of the 2 way
modules an dhave AHP show that on the
screen without having to ask it?
-
What loads the X10 Device Network Service?
I don't see it in XP's System Information
Startup programs, so apparently it's not
loaded with Windows. It's not in the Startup
Group on the Start Menu either.
-
I did find X10 Device Network Service
(x10nets.exe) in the Device Manager under
Services.
It is apparently running, but AHP still does
not properly report what the CM15A does when
AHP is not running, so there still seems to
be some kind of problem with either AHP not
polling the CM15A when opened, or x10nets.exe
is not doing what it is supposed to.
-
I notices there seems to be a file date problem.
AHP (version 3.201) has a file date of
2/8/06, which is correct.
The x10net.exe has a file date of 11/12/2001.
Could this possibly be the reason for the no
update in AHP as to module status?
X10 Pro, please monitor this thread and get
backm to us. It's not a major problem, but
those of us who used Active Home, it always
properly updated AH as to module status. We
miss it.
-
Hopefully, X10 Pro will have read all the
comments posted and read all and act on it.
Every time I got on these forums, this one
drops lower and lower in the queue.
Two of us have brought up this oddball
problem. Everybody else either doesn't know
about the non-auto update of AHP module
status or it's not a big deal to them.
On this tiny question is the bigger one: Did
X10 leave the feature out? AH polled the
CM11A when opened, why does AHP not?
-
The versions of x10net.exe or x10nets.exe
don't affect the operation of AHP in any way.
AHP was designed to work the same as the
original ActiveHome in this regard, and this
feature has worked in the past. AHP gets the
data from the X10 service, so if there's a
problem it's probably in the data interaction
there.
-
"so if there's a problem it's probably in the
data interaction there." Can you explain
more what that means?
Since everything's where it's supposed to be,
X10 Network Service is running, why does my
AHP not correctly report wha the interface is
doing? AHP is closed at this point, there are
timers that will turn on lights at 10 minutes
before dusk. If I open AHP when the timers
have run (from the interface) AHP will not
correctly show the module status.
-
I mean that the AHP request for device status
information and the subsequent update of the
screen isn't working. It could be that AHP
isn't getting the data in the right format,
or more likely, it's getting the data and not
updating the modules on screen when it should.
-
So, What do I do to correct this?
I'm not happy thinking another uninstall,
spend lots of time deleting X10/AHP refences
from the Windows Registy and
re-installing/updating AHP again. At least my
.ahx files get backed up regularly.
-
This isn't something you'll need to correct
-- it's something for us to fix. We're taking
a look at it now, and I hope to have it fixed
in an update soon.
-
Thank you again.
-
Dan,
AHP only keeps track of the units on
the "Monitored House Code" in (Tools -
Hardware Config) when disconnected from the
PC.
It does not actually poll each unit.
"queryplc" command does not and has not
worked for a while in the SDK, so I don't
think AHP can auto-poll a unit in a unknown
state and determine if it is on or off.
-
All of my housecodes are monitored. AHP
refuses to update module status, even when
open when the CM15A runs the scheduled timers.
As X10 Pro posted, this is something that is
being looked into by X10, it's not related to
monitored housecodes or the 15.
-
Further observations:
AHP continues to fail to coorectly show
module status, but with exceptions. A timer
turns off lamps A1,A2, A2 and F2 at 7:30 AM
Weekdays. A timer turns on A1, A2, A3 and F1
at 7:31 AM Weekdays. The timers (all uploaded
to the CM15A) execute flawlessly.
AHP shows A1 and A3 on with a blue background
(A2 is a SR227 outlet as always shows the
status correctly, on) F1 shows as off.
I understand the blue means AHP recieved that
status but could not properly execute it.
-
What is the status of this? Can AHP poll with the latest release?
I am new to AHP and want to be able to poll all of the devices on command.. either through AHP or the SDK so I can send a status to email. The idea is to be able to send the log to email every day or so. anyone?
