Title: iWitness / Cams Must Be Working Well ??
Post by: SteveRF on September 14, 2005, 05:37:21 PM
iWitness must be working well. I have not
seen much activity here lately.  Either all
is well or all have left.  I bit off on a few
Xcam2's and a low light to see for myself if
the quality and reliability was good enough
to continue with iWitness and the upcoming
internet plug-in.  My current system
(AHP/Macros') is performing well and I am
anxious to expand.  Anyone with news
concerning cameras or iWitness ?? I'd be
interested in your comments and opinions.
Regards,
SteveRF

You'll like the way X10dispatch works with
iWitness. I think most of the "iWitness
posters" are beta testing the internet
plugin which is proving to be more of a
challenge for X10.

Tuicemen,
Thanks for the response.  I wont be moving to
iWitness until I am happy with the
cams...They should arrive tomorrow or
Saturday.  Concerning iWitness, did X10 issue
a recommended min machine config ?  I saw
several posts complaining about
speed/response etc.  In your opinion, will a
1 gig/p4 or 1 gig dual P4 be enough
horsepower for iWitness live ?
regards,
SteveRF

Tuicemen,
OOPS...I meant 1gig "P3" or Dual 1 gig "P3"
NOT P4.  The machine I am current using for
AHP is a dual 1gig P3 with XP/Pro.  I was
wondering if that is enough horsepower for
iWitness.

you should have no problem I'm running a p3
700mhz with 1gig of mem and have no problems
with iWitness. I don't have any pan and tilt
cams and don't use the video capture though.
