Title: ActiveHome Pro Installation Problem
Post by: david mcgee on December 01, 2004, 08:04:52 PM
I've just installed the AH Pro software I
downloaded on a PC with XP Pro w/SP2 and when
I try to start the program it terminates
before I can even enter the code I was given
in the email.   I've removed and reinstalled
several times following the instructions in
the manual with the same results everytime.
Any ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks...

Do you get an error message? Do you see the
splash screen or the ActiveHome Pro window
before it goes away? Does the registration
box pop up?

New install as of today, and periodically
version 3.170 crashes on my XP SP2 machine.

Yes the registeration screen pops up as well
as the splash screen.  The splash screen goes
away  after a few seconds and the error
signature reports:

AppName: activehm.exe  AppVer. 3.0.0.166
ModName: kernel32.dll  ModVer: 5.1.2600.2180
Offset: 00009e9c

Does this help?

Installed latest AHP sw and when starting
AHP the registration screen appears and
immediately I get a windows error mseeage
and then in a couple of seconds both
windows dissappear.  I talked to a support
person at x-10 and he sent me a file to
install 3.186 but that failed the same
way.  I am using Windows WP Pro with SP2.

Just tried install AHP sw yesterday.  I have
the same problem with my laptop running
Windows XP Pro sp1.  Then I tried with my
desktop running the Windows XP Pro also but
without sp1.  It worked ok.  I still need to
fix the problem with lap top because I am not
plugging the controller unit close to my desktop.
