connected to the Active home interface .
there is NO WAY that my my home computer be
connected to internet, i need the software
on a CD or a place I can download the
software at my office, copy it on CD and

Good luck.

Have a bigger software problem, can't
install it... has sent emailsss, phones...
and still no answers from X10.
Sending the CM15A back.
Bonne chance Francois.

Michel C: You have an e-mail from me about this.
-
X10- it's nice that Micahel C has an email
from you "about this". What about an answer
to the question from Francois Michaud? Any
chance we could ever get a straight answer on
this one? I've never bought software before
that I wasn't allowed to actually have.......

Need a driver for the USB connection to the
CM15A

Some bugs occur that are delt with in the
next upgrade - I am sure that X10 will have
a package available to download/CDrom when
the software is deemed bug-free and most of
the issues have been delt with. Not all
users are having the same problems and as
such you might discover a problem that
could be dlet with as an update. If your
computer is not hooked up to the net - you
won't know when the update is available.
Some other things are only delt with when
you are connected to the net. Unless of
course you like dealing with sneaker-net.
Please be patient - things will happen as
they happen. Look at Microsoft - they still
haven't gotten things right - XP is still
getting updates for various problems - and
they have a hell of a lot more people
working on the problems than X10 does.
-
Donald,
Do You remember how many updates were made?
Each one of them removing one bug and
creating another. Also, comparing X10
software to Microsoft software is like
comparing paper airplane to real 747.

BTW. Even the forum is full of bugs.
i've been trying to post this message
3 times already and still getting errors.

That may be part of the problem but at
least X10 is ooking at solving them - would
you like to have gotten a CDrom with the
bad versions on it? When they get things
working properly for 99.9% of users then I
will want a more permenant copy of the full
program and I would expect to get it either
on CDROM or as a complete download. Since
it is not at that state yet - we'll just
have to deal with it. By the way Jerry -
you posted the same message 3 times even
with the forum errors.

Oh - Just noticed a little note (LOOK
BELOW - MIDDLE OF PAGE) IT SAYS:
"System requirements: Windows based
Personal Computer, available USB port, and
Internet connection to download software
and updates."
READ THE FINE PRINT - It helps - You can't
run software designed for certain
requirments if your machine doesn't meet
those requirments.
But having said that - You might be able to
extract the software off of your internet
machine and transfer it over to your Home
Automation computer by making note of all
changes to the registry and
files/directorys and duplicating the setup
on the other computer. It will be alot of
work/snooping to get it done but it can be
done.
