Title: Macro Outputs
Post by: ralph landsborough on July 30, 2005, 10:59:51 PM
I have the latest ActiveHome Pro with Smart
Macros.  AND I have a SmartHome TesterLinc
Model 4819 signal analyzer.  I've noticed
that commands from the result of a Macro
have very poor signal quality.  A manual
command (or a timed command) from in the
ActiveHome Pro will display a quality count
of 126, but a command from a Macro will
display 000 or 002.  At first I thought that
the Macro output was too quick, so I tried a
delay of 10 and 15 seconds.  It doesn't make
any difference.  This unit sems to be
useless in the Macro mode.
I also had the problem of an import changing
all times to AM.

Ralph Landsborough:
Try this and see if it makes any difference:
Unplug the CM15A from the wall, remove the
batteries, wait about 5 seconds, replace the
batteries and plug in again.  Then re-
download your macros.

I've seen some strange timing on macro
transmissions (like "too quick") that the
above procedure has fixed and wonder if this
might account for your observations also.

Ralph Landsborough:

Try this:

1)   purchase 1132CUP from Smarthome
2)   return the cm15a and all software
to X10,
3)   enjoy all the extra free time;
Smarthome products work as advertised,
since I switched in march I never had to
reset the clock or reprogram the
controller; I get to spend more time with
my 14 month son then wasting time
troubleshooting the cm15a crap .
4)   the “Unplug the cm15a, remove
battery” ritual is proof of very bad
design, any amount of “Lemon Aid” will not
fix that problem.

I seem to have similar issues - I have
multiple  lights on A6 and when I use any
remote to turn "A6 on", it works great on all
lights.

However, a macro turning on A6 results in
half the lights remaining off.  Seemed very
odd to me, now I understand why!  And, makes
the macro function pretty useless ....
