I have reinstalled the program on my new
computer (P4, winxp pro sp2, same as old) and
now windows reports the interface as unknown.
I get the message that 'windows doesn't
recognize the device. I have uninstalled and
reinstalled the software and have tried to
manually install the driver for the device to
no avail. Windows sees the device but reports
it as malfunctioning. What to do?

Fixed it!
Took out batteries, unplugged from wall and
replugged it in and voila!
-
OH The complete reset thing. Glad you found
it.

Same problem on Windows 2000 Server.
after 4 hours of troubleshooting remove
batteries and power and walla it's the
module that was hammered.
thanks for your fix it worked for me

Worked for me as well. Thanks.

In another message thread. Someone found
that the interface didn't have really good
noise filtering capacitors and added 4.
Their problem was solved. That said the
warantee also goes out the window.

Does anyone know how to get a lost active
Home activation code?

email or call X10, you will need your email
address you gave to X10 when you ordered AHP
originally.

I'm having the same problem. Just moved from
Windows 98SE to Windows XP Home Edition.
Program tells me the unit is not connected to
the USB interface (it is). I tried the
unplug, remove batteries, disconnect the USB
cable to reset-didn't work. Any suggestions?

I had the same problem and the unlug and
battery removal did the trick. I've NEVER
had this problem before and it all started
after I downloaded the latest software
version. I really think the latest
software version has some REAL problems.

I had the same "unknown device" USB problem
with activehome pro. It reported VID/PID
0000/0000.
Unplugging it & taking out the batteries made
it work again. Of course, I lost my settings.
