Title: Windows XP
Post by: bob w on December 25, 2005, 09:57:01 AM
I have been using the system for some time.
Yesterday, I upgraded my operating system
from Windows 98 SE to Windows XP Home. Now my
system says that the interface is not
connected (it is), and the interface has
stopped controlling my modules. How can I get
communications back up?

Active Home Pro for the cm15a USB Interface
or the older Active Home with the serial
cm11a? The older Active Home doesn't like XP.
If that is what you have there are some
hints to use it if you need them.

The 16-bit Active Home has problems under XP,
usually communications problems on the serial
port. XP's compatibility mode does not seem
to have any affect. I suspect it is just a
Microsoft attempt to make stuff work that's
halfbaked like a lot of MS software. That is
why I upgraded to AHP.

If you backup your .x10 files from AH, you
can convert them to .ahx and use them in AHP.
That's what I did, and did not have to
rebuild my X10 system from scratch.
