Title: Outside weatherproof siren
Post by: john fisher on June 30, 2005, 03:38:14 PM
I noticed on the Internet that there is an
Outdoor Weatherproof siren that is supposed
to work on the X-10 called the SS-300B.
It's not cheap ($139). Has anyone ever
tried using one of these??

Yes there is a thread here on it and a Radio
Shack 49-1000 that it will not work with.
Then again none of the X10 Sirens work with
the 49-1000 either. Basically it is
triggered by a lamp module with a small
trigger power supply that also requires a 25
watt lamp to keep the off leakage low enough
not to trigger all the time. The siren also
has another main power supply that give it
the power to sound. There are instruction
sheets on some of the web sites that carry
this item.
