As long as we're wishing, the CM15A interface
would fit into some tight places if the
"plug" on back were offset. Might it be
possible to have it positioned in one of
several locations at users option? A screw
that holds it in place could be removed,
"blade" assy. placed in new location, and
secured with the screw.

It a work of art to be able to plug 2
modules into one outlet.
Maybe instead of a movable "blade assy"
someone could design a slimline module.
Even a half inch off the width would be
nice.

How about "flipping" the plug over, so you
could plug the module in upside down (in the
top half of the outlet) leaving room in the
bottom for another module?
Or, how about being able to "rotate" the
plug to the top, so that you can use a short
extension cord, and let the CM15A sit on the
floor, below the outlet?

How about just adding a outlet pass-
through? This way you could still you the
outlet for other connections.

For God sakes don't do anything that will
swap or plug the thing "upside down". Smell
for smoke if you do.
For the price his thing ABSOLUTELY should
include a "pass thru" plug that is
unaffected by the device like all the
SmartHome (Oppsss....I meant Glade Air
freshner) modules have.
There are also things called Power Strip
Savers that allow more than one thing to be
plugged in the same socket, it looks like a
one foot extension cord but modified.

just a note. a friend has a bunch of those
smarthome modules with passthru. he had
plugged in an extension cord and ran it under
the couch so that his wife can plug in her
laptop. When the housekeeper needed to plug
in the vacuum cleaner, she used the extension
cord and pop went his expensive module.
Apparently there's a fuse inside so adding a
pass through outlet might expose a problem.

Whether it be "moving plugs" or pass thrus,
every one of these suggestions will make the
CM15 BIGGER! And the dang thing is big
enough.
Somewhere I saw little 5" extension cords,
specifically ment to allow wall warts to be
plugged in to outlet strips and not cover
two or three outlets. Anyone know where
these can be found?

A quick look at TigerDirect.com shows that
they have 1 ft outlet saver power extension
cords for $2.49 ea.

I thought I had seen them at a local
computer/consumer electronics store but i
can't find them. Wish i had picked some up
when i was a a computer swap meet a few weeks
ago. oh, try www.rogerssystems.com, they
have 1 ft power extension cords as well

Flipping the plug will do nothing to the
unit! The only reason it cannot be done is
because it's polarized. I'm not suggesting
this, but you could easilly file off the
large plug tangs and plug it in upside down
with no effect on the unit. It's AC, and not
referenced to anything.

I found the CM15A to be like plugging in a
bread box no matter where I wanted it to
go. Way too big and in the way every time.
Then I found that it wasn't working well
because it was so low and behind stuff.
When I put it where it worked best, it was
in the way. SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO I plugged
in a 6' extension cord and chucked it up on
top of a book case. Now it's out of the way
and all of the modules get serviced with no
dead spots in the house. Big deal, I have a
brown cord running across my white wall up
to the top of the bookcase that everyone
keeps asking what it is. Maybe I'll change
to a white cord.

Do you have the USB cord running up the
wall also?
You gotta do what you gotta do. Maybe
plugging it in the attic would be even
better. :)
You could always put a small lamp up there
too. Maybe then people would stop asking
about the cord. Of course then they might
start asking why you have a lamp on top of
the bookcase. ;)

it into your computer.....
