Title: Thermostat Control
Post by: kenny nemchak on January 15, 2005, 02:08:17 PM
I've seen 2-way X10 HVAC control on other
sites, but for $200-$250.
I think you guys can do it cheaper.
If you already have it, let me know where I
can find it on your site.

I would also be interested in A/C Thermostat
and sprinkler control.  I installed a
geothermal heat pump a couple of years ago.
Really works efficiently.  I'd love to add
the thermo and sprinkler control to my home
automation system.  Newbie X10 but
experienced with A/C installs and sprinkler
systems.  Small home but love the automation
fun.  Hope we can find resonable controls in
the $75-150 range... Cheaper and better
displays would be nice too.

See “Need advice on this?” thread in General
forum.  The last post was 12/27/2004 01:15
PM.  This may help unless U’r thermostat is
newer and has its own setback/programming
features, which means it’ll probably have
more than two wires.  Keep in mind that my
fix is nothing more than a switch, in series
with the thermostat, which allows (or
prevents) the low voltage from the thermostat
to be applied to the gas control valve.
Another solution is to buy a programmable
thermostat in the $25-50 range.
