Title: What camera should I get?

What is the basic stuff I need to use set up a camera at the front door to be used with AHP?

I have all the AHP software.

Also, is it possible to access my existing cameras that are part of my X10 flood lights? What would I need?

Basicaly all you'll need is a VA11A usb video adapter and a VR36A 2.4ghz Wireless Video Reciever.( thats If you go with a wire less cam)
As for camera depends on what you want it for. Pan&tilt will give you more coverage no matter which cam you choose!
Yes your othe cams will work with it!

So if my X10 flood lights are already transmiting via 2.4, is all I need to have for those cameras is the usb video adapter?

Yes and the Reciever  that catches the signal and sends it threw the VA11A to your PC for AHP (as long as you have the iWitness plugin).

Depending on what type of lighting you have at your front door, you may want to concider one of the low light cameras.  I have one of the standard cameras at my side door which is light from a motion activated flood light and the standard camera works fine there. My back door has only a standard incandescent light, I think it is 60 watts, and it is barely enough with the standard camera.

I get bogged down with the X10 ads but am interested in at least being able to monitor my existing flood light cameras. Long range I'd like a low light (B&W is ok) pan and tilt camera for the front door.

I don't want to get stuck buying something that won't work well with AHP. I could start with just the USB adaptor but does X10 package the adaptor with their pan and tilt camera? If so, maybe I should go ahead and get the camera. Also how much problem is there to mount and wire the camera? Would I have to have electricity run to were I wanted the camera?

All you need is an outlet 10-20 feet from where your mounting the cam . There is a wallwart addressable powersupply for the cam with a small wire that can be tucked under trim work.

Thanks. I've got the nearby outlet now I just need to decide on the camera.

Are the cameras controlled by RF or line signal?

Cameras are turned on/off by PLC but pic is sent RF.
