Title: X10 Line Monitor stores 1000 x10 commands with Date & Time Stamp
Post by: grouchy2shoes on December 07, 2006, 01:58:08 PM
Some time ago we developed a device to read any and all x10 commands from the Powerline. The unit uses a battery backed up
ram chip with a built in calender/clock chip to time stamp when the command was sent. There is a 2 line 16 character array to display the information and 2 buttons to scroll through the memory and set up the date and time. There is a 9 volt external adapter to supply power. I have several of the units available for sale.
We are interested in marketing the product further. Please contact me at wahunter@sympatico.ca

What does this do that the Activity Monitor in ActiveHomePro won't do?

Can it monitor RF signals too?

If you could add a X10 signal level function to the mix you might develop a good market if you are priced similar to other units ($100 is the cheapest I have found - Smarthome 4819 with an interface).

Thanks for the info Dave, the smarthome one sure looks like mine. Though I lock the code up in an 8751 I'd be surprised if this wasn't the same.    I'd love to see the source code for this one.
Adding the signal level is a good idea and I think adding a USB connection to upload the data to a spreadsheet would be an asset too. I may get one of these smarthome ones to do a bit of comparing. There are just too many similarities between the two that leaves me feeling uncomfortable.
I'll keep you posted

No it will not monitor the rf from the remotes.
