TW523 is just a signal interface for non X10 equipment to send X10 signals. Has no brains at all and uses the equipment to do all the work. Like timing and protocol encoding. X10Pro PSC05 is their version of the interface.

The All house Code Receiver? The WGL V572A is such a device and many here have used it with good results.
Smarthome use to have two versions.
One used the TW523 or the X10Pro PSC05 to interface to the powerline and a wall wart power supply.
The other used their 1132B interface and the WGL Receiver with the 1132B providing both the interface and power.

In the X10 Webs Support area. Users manuals for the TW523 and its protocol can be found
Data on the WGL v572A/B [one has the interface one doesn't if you have one already] can be found at.
