Title: Infra-Red switch on Lights, but not alarm
Post by: Analoguesque on January 21, 2007, 05:05:28 PM
I have the DS7000 powerhouse system and won't be using the infra-red at all (animals in the house).

Is there a way to get the infra-red to turn on lamp modules when triggered, but not trip the alarm?  It may require something completely different but I was hoping to get a setup where arming the system results in door/window switches setting off the alarm, while the infra-red simply switches lamps on for, say, 5 minutes, or trips some flashing lights ... etc.

Sorry if these questions are trivial to answer but I'm a complete noob with X10 and am trying to get up to speed with all the things it can do.

I can feel my wallet draining the more I read ...  ;)

You would need ActiveHomePro with the OnAlert plug-in to do this. If you go this way, make sure you do not register the security motion sensors to the DS7000. Keep in mind that OnAlert requires a PC running 24/7.
