The UR78A remote will not work with a DVD recorder, Samsung, that the UR73A works fine with!
The code list for the two remotes is the same! (Although the 73 uses 4 digits and the 78 uses 3 digits ???)
I want to use the 78 as it has the additional feature for my remote speakers using my VK59A
(The TV, and of course the speakers that the 78 works with are RF)
(I also am assuming, and I know how dangerous that can be, that the 78 will work correctly with IR extender feature of the VK82A)

Not sure if you're still around - I believe the UR78A includes a code search feature for just this type of problem.
It may take a while to thumb through all the codes, but I would think you could find one that is compatible.
I've had to do this a number of times for different makes of Audio receivers.

X10 Service has determined that the IR module in the remote is bad.
I have sent it to them, and when they return it I expect everything to be OK!
