Title: Welcome to the MyHouse Online Forum! [1B of 6]
Post by: rob on December 01, 2005, 10:42:17 AM
Mr X10

Software paid for now if we could just get it to connect it might show some return on the dollar.

Would be nice to get an answer from X10. I would be glad to be a tester but would like a better discount than 20.00 bucks for doing so.

Also for the rest of us that know how our fire walls work it would be nice if this software could connect directly without using your servers.

Thanks

Hope to hear something soon

Rob

So far this software package is very
disappointing. Was this Software
connectivity actually tested?. This
software won't even connect to a non secure
non-firewalled protected systems.  Connect
and then disconnect and NITASYSCONNCLOSED
then try to reconnect appears to be what
this package does best. Please let us know
what the problem is.

JB: This software was in beta test for some
time, and connection worked -- it's the point
of the product, so of course that was our
main focus. We use it in our offices here
behind pretty hefty firewalls and NAT. I
haven't seen the error message you mention
before, but I will review with the team this
morning.

Rob: At present, the use of our servers is
required. Most users need the MyHouse Service
on our servers to be able to connect
reliably, but we have talked about adding a
local connection for expert users.

This problem should now be resolved. It
wasn't a problem in the MyHouse or ActiveHome
Pro code, but a problem with data on the
server. If you try to connect now, it should
work almost immediately.

Cannot connect. Receiving message similar
to Rob. Using Windows XP. Connecting to

Further to my previous post, I have since
noticed the icon at the bottom of the Room
1 page indicating "Hardware not connected".
I have connected everything as per
directions. Please help me.

Is there a manual I can download for
MyHouse? I can't get it to connect and
reading the help files is too confusing. Too
many windows to open to fine anything.

Marty: You can find the manual and other
information on the MyHouse Online page in our
knowledgebase:

http://www.x10.com/kbase/products/p00121.html

Louis: Can you describe what steps you are
taking and what happens when you do them?

Steps taken:
Enter internet to http://myhouse.x10.com
ActiveHome Pro screen with Remote Login
Enter ID etc.
Click Connect Now
Screen MyHouse Status indicates:
Start connecting
Connecting
NtaSysConnClosed
Disconnected
Waiting ? s to reconnect
Then the cycle is repeated

Two icons appear at the bottom of the
ActiveHome Pro screen:

connected to MyHouse Service
hardware not connected

Louis: Are you getting the "NtaSysConnClosed"
message on the status window on the
Remote-side, or on the side of your AHP PC?
If it's on the remote side, can you verify
that the System ID you're entering is
*exactly* the same as it appears in the User
Configuration window on the main AHP PC? If
you delete and re-type it is there any
difference?

X10 Pro - Thanks for the manual. I'll try to
get it figured out. First, am I supposed to
get connected from a computer (in another
room) that's connected to the same router?
Or am I just wasting my time?

The message is on the AHP PC

Louis: Is ActiveHome Pro registered
successfully? If you go to Help then Product
Registration, what's listed there?

Louis: I just sent you an e-mail, so we can
work on this that way if you want.

I set up a system here using your order
information, and it seems to work OK. At
least we know that your order and
registration data is working.

Are you using cable Internet, or some other
connection? Do you know if you are behind a
proxy server? If you open the User
Configuration window from the MyHouse menu in
AHP, is the System ID shown something other
than ten zeroes? (Don't post your System ID
here in the forums.)
