I have been using this system since long before X-10 starting promoting it. Over the years have had some gliches which I usually could clean up. I have one now that is really testing my patience and knowledge. My flourescent aquarium lighting is controlled by a 3 pin appliance module. This has been working perfectly for several years. About one year ago I went to the LCD Hi-Def television. It is on the same circuit as the aquarium lighting. [has no X-10 connection at all]. The aquarium light has worked up untl about 3 weeks ago. Now, the Active Home will not turn that module off or on. The module will respond with the wireless remote. I know it is the tv because with all the things plugged into that wall plug [home entertainment stuff], if I unplug the tv, the active home works just fine for the aquarium. Simply plug the tv back in the wall and the x-10 is totally dead on that module.......... any ideas?

This is a common problem nowadays with the proliferation of newer energy efficient appliances.
The switchmode power supply in the TV is either generating noise on the AC power line, or more likely its capacitive filtering is acting as a "signal sucker" and attenuating the X10 signal on the power line.
You'll need to install a special X10 filter, like the X10 XPPF plug-in filter, between the TV set and the AC socket. They run about $10 to $11 (including S&H) from X10 retail stores on eBay. Run a search for "X10 XPPF" at http://www.ebay.com
