The X10 mini console operates a Hayward Color light just fine when the landscape lights are off, but when they are on, the X10 won't work. They both run off a 120 volt circut pulled from the 220 panel that operates the pool equipment. If I conect the X10 console to another 120 volt plug run off the same 220 panel, it works regardless if the landscape lights are on or not. The landcape lights are powered by a 900 watt transformer. Problem is I want to operate the pool light from my BBQ island and I pulled all the 12 volt wires that service the entire yard into the island as well so I can't move them. I could run a dedicated line just for the X10 from the pool panel to the island, but it's about 50' and I really think there should be a better way. Any suggestions?

Sounds like your 12 volt transformer is generating some noise or sucking the x10 signals up see X10, Noise Generators, Signal Suckers, and Filters (http://jvde.us/x10/x10_filters.htm)

Doing an Advaced Search for noise should bring up other posts from users and what they did to fix the problem! ;) :D ;D

I always like the quick (cheap) and easy solutions (although I rarely pass-up a chance to run wire). I would plug a transceiver into the plug where the mini console worked, and use a palmpad remote from the BBQ island.

I bought a palmpad from Home Depot but am concerned about putting the transceiver into the plug where the mini controller worked because it is an outdoor plug exposed to the elements. I could put it in the electrical box but I don't think the remote palmpad signal would penetrate the metal housing of the panel.

Your right to be concerned! Never expose a transceiver to the outside.
Flip the breaker to that plug.... see if anything INSIDE stops working (maybe in the garage). If that doesn't work..... just try a few other outlets INSIDE.
