Title: Unregistering a sensor from Console ?
Post by: alexr40 on October 03, 2007, 09:30:48 AM
Hi

I have a question. Let say I got 8 sensors. but I am willing to remove sensor from zone # 7

If I just remove the batteries from sensor,  the console will start blinking after 4 hours saying it has not report. You will not be able to arm the alarm with remotes unless you go to the console and hit BYPASS and zone etc.

If i am going to completely remove that sensor, How can I unregister it so the console wouldnt expect anything more from that zone/sensor? How can I clear/erase the console memorized sensor?

Thanks.

alexr40: The only way to completely remove a sensor is to reset the console and re-install everthing except the unwanted sensor. Unfortunately there is no way of just removing one.

To reset:

1) Unplug console from AC power.
2) Remove +9V battery
3) Wait a few seconds
4) Re-insert battery
5) Plug console back into AC power.

Re-Install:

1) Sensors
2) Remotes
3) Voice message
4) Phone numbers

You might want to just box up the sensor (if it's a window/door sensor tape it together) and put it near the console.  Later at an appropriate time you can do the reinstallation.  (from the file: "I meant to do that!")
