Title: Need help
Post by: daveva on December 18, 2007, 09:38:50 PM
Just joined this forum a couple of days ago and read a lot of the post but I still have some questions. I have been using X10 PO11A modules for about five years to turn on my Christmas lights. Every thing worked fine until this year. Sometimes some of the lights will not turn on but they always turn off. It's not always the same receptacle. Sunday they all came on an hour early. So I checked the AHP, cleared the interface CM15A, downloaded the program and and it worked fine on Monday. Today two of the modules did not work although I did hear a click from one of the receptacles but the light did not come on. So I connected the interface to the computer and turned them on. Now from what I read this could be noise in the line. But I also read that if you can turn them on through AHP then its not a noise problem. I have sent for a ELK-EMS1 but it hasn't arrived yet and may not till after the holidays  I also contacted Jeff Volp about the XTB-IIR but I don't want to spend money on something I may not need. I have seventeen modules and set the times at one minute intervals to see if that would make a difference but it didn't. Anyone have any suggestions as to what could be wrong ?

What is a PO11A module?  There is no such module on the X10.com website.

Welcome to the boards daveva.

Dan I think what daveva is referring to is the PA011 module. This is the pro version of the SR227 receptacle module.

Since your setup use to work and now it doesn't it may be that something has been added to the house that's acting as a signal sucker rather then noise on the line. Your on the right track by getting the ELK-EMS1 to check your setup. Let us know how it goes once the meter arrives.

Happy Holidays

Could you slow down the blinking light a bit. I think I'm going to have a seizure.  ;)
No really it's a very cool image! Thanks for the touch of holiday spirit.
