Title: riddex plus ?
Post by: blown99bergerssclo on January 30, 2008, 02:46:11 PM
has anyone heard of it and will it work with x10? it is a plug in unit that supposedly will use your wiring to keep away bug's and rodents ( i guess it transmits some kind of freq) any way i ordered a bunch of x10 stuff and just seen this. it sounds like it would be good in my detached garage as long as it doesent cause x10 problems.

While I have no idea if they would add noise to the line that would interfere with the X10 signal, I believe they are generally considered ineffective as a pest control device.

I have similar devices that are made by Black and Decker.  I've had two of them in my garage for several years.  They don't seem to have any affect on X10 components.  I never really had a pest problem in the garage, but I bought these to give them a try anyway.  I'm not sure if they are affective or not in keeping pests out.  Although they seem to be effective in keeping elephants out of the garage ... I've never seen an elephant in my garage after I installed them.  :D  :D  :D

i don't have a problem either. but we live in the country and only had the house built a year ago......better to keep them out now instead of getting rid of them later.....thanks
