Title: New and Improved face sets
Post by: Tuicemen on April 09, 2007, 02:47:55 PM
I Finally got around to improving my face sets for AlertDialer,X10wavPlayer And usable with BXVC!
The newer versions should work better in BXVC as I removed the background color!
Also increased the pixels for the Operator face and added a surprise in that one for when she is idle;) :D ;D
If you can't wait for -Bill- (of BXVC)   or my next releases you can down load them here:
***Tuicemen's Software*** (http://www.tuicemen.com)

If you caught me on Yahoo chances are I downloaded them to you already, if not take a peek! ;) :D ;D

Well Slap my fingers! ;) :D ;D  The link is fixed now, thanks Steven ! ;) :D ;D
I clicked on the link and it went to your page. I then clicked on a link at your page that took me to an Angelfire error page.
Here's where it really gets weird! When I went back and clicked on the original posted link it took me to the Angelfire login again instead of your page that it went to just before.

You may have clicked on the link in the quote the second time arround (I edited it Just incase someone else does that too!) ;)
I see the Problem! Anglefire added a underscore to the file names ::) It should work now, I double tested both links here! ;) :D ;D
Sorry Steven for making you work ;) But thanks for pointing the errors out Anglefire can do some strange renaming I've found! ::) Hope the download makes the wait worth while! ;)

I have installed the "new" operater face on my BXVC and she's awesome!

She is now prettier and "friendlier" (I would even say more HELPFUL) .

You did a great job Tuicemen!

I use the "operator face" in my BVC (http://wgjohns.com/bvc.htm) and like the new animated image so much I use an X10 VGA video sender to have her "show herself" on my TV.

Anybody interested in a full screen face set?

I've Posted Hawk1s faceset on my site so those that want to give it a test run can!

PC Companion won't show it full screen. It sizes it to fit the program, even if you don't show the inteface!
BVC I understand will display a face set full screen!

WOW!!! I now have Jerri right here... THANKS TUICEMEN! I still swear my Kate16 voice sounds just like Jerri when she played 7 of 9 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seven_of_Nine).

The faceset of Jerri is [of course] AWESOME. I attached an image... of course Jerri shut her eyes just as I snapped the shot.. hummmm.

Hey no problem, but you deserve some credit too.
I Just supplied a wack of pictures and you sorted threw to get the & correct lip movements and converted the files to GIFs
I'll fine tune this set when I get back to the city, to bad the conversion added a off white background. :(
But I'll clean that up too. ;)

Great job!!! Jeri took a little while to load and play [on my PC with my connection] but well worth it. Everyone should take a peek at how far Tuicemen has taken this face set stuff.

With my discovery of e-speaking I found it had a selection of Avatars.
None realy jumped out at me so I decided to see if I could convert a Face set. ::) :'
Yep, It is possible. :)% e-speaking uses 12 pics but I already had these generated so it was a simple mater of defining them in the XML File. 8)
If anyone is interested you can get the Avatar (faceSet) here (http://tuicemen.com/forum/index.php?topic=80.0)

As I continue to play with creating facesets and see how they perform in different programs, I realized the need for a larger graphic set.
MS speech was created to make use of a 22 graphic set for the lipsync. Using any less reduces the performance quality.
For this reason I've started to create sets using the larger graphic set.
Unfortunately this means many software that has taken advantage of the deduced number set won't be capable of using the new sets.
However if one has some experience with photoshop or another paint program that can convert files to the gif format it will be possible to convert a set to the old 7 graphic set.
The first set created using this larger graphic set is Operator II currently in testing with PCC.

With the creation of T.A.C. I found the current sets wouldn't work on a android  :'(
Syncing to TTS evens isn't possible with the native google voice engine.  :'(
I was able to utilize the closed mouth gif of the sets but away to utilize the other files needed to be found.
The result is a two gif faceset for androids.
I have converted 4 of the sets to the droid format.
Max
The original Operator
Nicole
OperatorII

As for performace I'd love to hear some feed back as to how well these work on your droid.
I'm sure the performace can be tweeked a little more then I've already done. ::) :'
Here is Nicole on the AirPad 7

I find that the facesets on the droid are very nice and the lips sync is pretty good.  They appear right on especially with smaller android devices.  They appeear more precise on my phone then on that 7" tablet but either way they are very good

Do you find one set performs better or worse then the others or do they all perform the same.

It seems that nicole and operator II are a little smoother then the others but they are all very good.  Also is there a change to get blondie added to the TAC facesets

I was thinking of removing the original operator as the quality isn't up to pare with the others.
I could replace her with Blondie.
Each set adds considerable space requirments to TAC
I'm looking at possibly having the face sets separate like PCC in their own Folder.
If this happens users can then create there own sets for TAC

Starting with version 1.2.7 you'll be able to add facesets to TAC with out waiting for me to add them.
This will allow for Users to create and use their own sets.
TAC will also only ship with Operator 2 and Nicole in order to keep the download size down.
There is a starter pack available with Max, Operator, and Blondie.
This will be available from the TAC forum as well as the TAC web site (http://tuicemen.com/tac/)
