Title: Invert video from my camera
Post by: davidstoll on April 06, 2008, 03:53:57 PM
I have an X10 video camera and it needs to be installed upside down.  I would rather have it just sit on the counter, but then the video is upside down and the control functions are reversed.  Is there any way to invert the video feed?

The camera I have is the "X10 Color Security Camera & Receiver".

Thanks!

You didn't mention whether you had tried to rotated the camera.  But you should be able to rotate the camera on it's base to get the correct image.

davidstoll A little more info is needed are you using it straight to a TV or viewing on a PC?
You can remove the nut and bolt located behind the cam head (on the Ajustable neck) and flip the cam and replace the bolt and nut! ;)
If you using software on a PC changing to a different Codec usualy works! ;)

I can't rotate the camera because it's on the mechanical base so it can be moved remotely.

However, removing that screw/bolt just might do the trick.  I'll give it a try tonight!  Why didn't I think of that?

Thanks!!!

Your just too close to the fire! :D ;D
Some times it is the most obvious things that are over looked!  ;)
I just hope thats the only issue you have with your cam, I've had one running for years without any issues! ;)

davidstoll,

If your camera is on a Ninja (pan and tilt) base be carefull if you are mounting it upside down outside. Rain can get into the base and it will stop working. I had this happen to me.
