Title: x-10 wireless camera won't shut off
Post by: nitrocat on October 11, 2008, 10:02:28 AM
I have several cameras around the house that all work fine but one of them won't shut off. Its on a pan an tilt bass that works great but I can tell its still on because I can see interference from it when I'm using another camera. The only way I've got it to shut off was to plug it into the transceiver module and shut it off that way. Got any suggestions?  Thanks,   nitrocat
P.S. its a XC18A camera

Did it also continue to pan and tilt even when another cameras was turned on?
Since the cameras work in groups of four unit codes. 1-4;5-8;9-12 and 13-16 Are all of them in the same group?
Since the Pan and Tilt is done by an RF signal from the remote to the base and the power supplies are controlled by a powerline signal. You most likely have a weak or missing X10 powerline signal to that cameras power supply. The fact that adding a transceiver controlled the camera indicates you then had the needed powerline signal to turn it on and off.
