I did a little testing with AHCMD.exe and I can send commands to AHP via email! Way cool - sure it's dependent upon my 30 minute Send/Receive cycle, but hey - it's better than nothing!
I know...I know - and I will look at X10-Dispatch, but this was too simple to pass up.

PajamaGuy, how were you able to accomplish this?
-
1. Created a PHANTOM module "K1" which triggers a macro to take a snapsot from a backyard camera & email it to me.
2. Wrote a 'k1-ON.bat" file that runs the command line, "AHCMD SENDPLC K1 ON"
3. Created a rule in Outlook that runs "K1-ON.bat" whenever it receives an email with "X10:K1ON" in the Subject line.
The hardest part was finding AHCMD.exe - (do a search here)
It works - and can flip any trigger you might have! :)%

So, does it work BOTH ways ?

How do you mean?

This will email the snapshot to you, but I just wondered how you send a command to "AHCMD.exe" to execute a command in your setup.

Sent myself an email - with "X10:K1ON" in the SUBJECT line. When Outlook receives the email, it (by rule) runs the batch file "K1-ON.bat"

Have you checked out the iPhone home controller project? Can't see why it won't work with any browser enabled cell phone but I haven't spent too much time going through it. Check it out though. You may get an idea or two:

I would - and did have an iphone for the Mrs., but her fingernails are too long and it was a pain for her to operate. Some places I go do not allow me to have a camera with me, so I'm relligated to an 8820 BB.
