Title: Xcam setup for computer viewing
Post by: jippyjappy on December 07, 2008, 10:08:48 PM
I recently got an Xcam XC18A camera, a receiver VR31A and a video-to-usb adapter VA11A from an estate sale. They came with power adapters XM10A & XM13A.

I think I've got it physically setup correctly so I have just 2 questions:

1. Which power adapters go with each device?

2. What drivers and software do I need to see and/or capture the video on my computer?

Thanks!

hi, welcome to the forum.  the xm13a should go with the camera. and the xm10a i think normally goes with a xc10a camera.  the video receiver normally take a 12 volt adapter with no code wheels on it.  the drivers you would need are on the x10 website, just do a search for x10 drivers and you should find them.

the software you need: x-ray is also on the x10 website and last time i checked is free.  also you might want to download the software first as if i remember right it might already have the drivers in the software download. somebody correct me if i'm wrong.

but as for the software goes, you can normally use most of the webcam software and freeware out there, you just need the drivers for the va11/va10/va12.  hope this helps

Totally different Way to connect Camera to computer without X10 software (http://www.x10community.com/forums/index.php?topic=17123.0)
