Title: "Free $15 Gift Certificate"
Post by: uker on January 08, 2009, 10:53:14 PM
"Free $15 Gift Certificate" if you subscribe to the X10 Newsletter.

http://x10.com/homepage.htm

So I signed up and received nothing. No mention of the Free $15 Gift Certificate in the email I received or anywhere on the website. Am I missing something?

Yes I believe X10 Bucks offers also come in a separate email. In my case; sometimes a few days after the order shipped email.

X10 Bucks offers are the gift that keeps on giving.  I bought a XPFM and I got 7 X10 Bucks offers in 4 days. I unsubscribed.

I signed up for the newsletter a few days ago and I got the sign up mail but nothing about the $15 and nothing since and I did put the address in my safe list.  This makes me hesitant to spend money here.

A quick call or e-mail to customer sevice will help explain it all to you!

I got my X10 $15 Gift Certificate email a couple of days after signing up for the newsletter.

Gift certificates are only good for normally priced items (not on sale).  If the item on your cart is listed in red, then that is a sale item.  If it is listed in black, then it is regular price and qualify for the gift certificate.

By the way, I got some X10 Bucks good for 30 days after placing a few orders.

I signed up for the newsletters and got nothing.  I contacted customer service who told me to reapply with another email address.  Luckily, I have another email address (Doesn't everyone these days?) and they sent the $15 voucher twice.  Of course, it's hard to find anything you can use it on... Every SKU is red!

That has been the summation of my experience with X10.com.

No consistency - sometimes you get a deal  ;D and sometimes you get the shaft.  B:(

Hi nybuck,

Reserve that gift certificate for items you need that isn't a part of any of the deals that they have.

From what I remember, I needed more modules than what was in one of those mega module pack sales, so I was able to use the certificate for that.

I'm sure you'll find use for it.  :)

I've found that the regular prices on single modules are way inflated...  They are often half-price on Ebay...

But that's just my experience...

Examples:
Pro non-dimming wall switch XPS3, Ebay=$11 shipped, X10.com=$42
Chime Module, Ebay=$6, X10.com=$25

Unfortunately, closer inspection shows the two separate $15 vouchers, 2 days apart, have the same voucher number.....   ???
...and they expire in 7 days!

Agree.  I've had two X10 bucks expire on me.  Just didn't need to buy anything at the time.
