Title: How to tackle this one?
Post by: autobot_Prime on January 31, 2009, 11:12:43 AM
Hey Guys,
I have a ceiling fan in my dining room that has no wall switch. I want to x10 it and install rf switches SS13A. The fan lights have CFL bulbs in it. What are my options to getting this to work. I have an old house with high ceilings. The house has been remodeled alittle and false ceilings have been installed. This fan was installed around the remodel time cause the wires for it are the newer wire and it is ran between the old ceiling and the false ceiling so getting to the wiring should be no problem. I don't really care about running the fan with x10 unless you guys think it might be something I may want later? I plan on someday getting active home pro and running stuff from it( macros) so maybe someday I may want the fan controled i don't know. You experts can tell me?  ;)

Got my porch light done  :)% now just want to figure out how to hook a hawkeye to it.

Thanks guys,
Dan

The x10pro xpfm is a inline x10 appliance module. So the Stick-a-switch can send the RF to your transceiver and then a power line signal
up to the fan........ This is non-dimming

They  xpdf is a dimming one but wont work with your CFL's

Could also use the Socket rockets for each bulb. I don't use them and don't know how they act with CFL's
