If you have AHP and Smart Macros this can probably be done.  Use the rf as the trigger.  You might want to setup a dummy switch too.  Someone else with alarm system knowledge might chime in here.   ;)

What exactly do you want to do?  What RF are you talking about?  X10 remote disarming the alarm?

i want to relabel and reuse an existing [security] remote
[actually, i have several of them, including keychain remotes]

so i want the 'disarm' button, for instance, to turn on light M5 at 55% brightness, turn off light M6, etc

i would print a new label for the remote, so it doesn;t say 'arm, disarm' etc any more

also i want my existing door and window sensors to be able to trigger macros on the cm15a and AHP
[though this may be a different issue]

so i have to make AHP recognize different buttons that are being pressed on the remotes

Yea, someone else with some security knowledge will have to chime in.  Sorry.  Have you tried doing a search?  Or looking in the OnAlert Threads?  Thats all I can recommend until someelse chimes in.

I use one of the little security remotes to trigger macros to turn my outside on, off and dim (to a preset 40%).

You need AHP with the OnAlert module and set it to trigger from a security module, you get to choose which security device and which button - I can't remember exactly how to do it because I'm not in front of that computer right now.

I also use the door/window sensors (MS10A) to trigger a couple of macros (basement lights on when the basement door is opened). I briefly experimented with the security motion sensors and they also seem to work.

Short answer...
Yes - use OnAlert plug-in.
