Does any one know if aluminum siding will prevent an eagle eye from working? I have one on my house and the LEDs work as you pass by but the chime inside does not work. Removing it from the house, I have it velcroed so can just pull it off with out removing the batteries and it seems to work. Thanks for any help. Jim

Yes. The metal blocks the radio signal, especially when the metal is between the motion sensor and the tranceiver. You might get it to work by getting the motion sensor off the metal by an inch or so.

I've also found that a window can make good portals for RF as well. For motion sensors or cameras, if you can get ether or both, the sender and/or receiver, near a window it should help.

Thank you both. It is right near a window so I will move it to the trim casing. It is only about 8" from where it is now. Thanks. Jim
