To put a system together that will turn the tv of my choice on, choose one of my four cameras, tune my tv to the channel that displays my camera, all with the push of one button?

keep in mind I have the cameras, the appliance modules, the software, the palmpads, the remotes. Not the powermid or the urt...whatever it's called.

With BVC(Bill's voice commander) or PCC(PC Companion) this can be done with the AHP(Active home pro) software. With BVC you will need (i believe a UIRT(infrared transmitter). With PCC you will need a VCR Commander. Maybe Tuicemen and Bill can jump in here anytime.

The way I see it, even with BVC (which I have) and PCC (which I have but not paid for yet, sorry tuice soon I hope)) I would still need the uirt or powermid I guess.

You are correct! At least in most cases. I have done.. I think.. just exactly what your thinking of doing. I use the the USB-UIRT (http://www.usbuirt.com/order.htm) (with the 56KHz IR Sensor) with my Home Automation computer in the basement. Then used a powermid (http://kbase.x10.com/wiki/Remote_Sender_(PowerMID)) like device to rebroadcast the IR upstairs where the TV I wanted to control is located.
I also use the IR re-sender in my Home Theater (http://www.davesdomainonline.com/ht/ht).
I can also control my TV using my Invoca Voice Remote (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vE5rm-O1zG0).

I think Dave_x10_L answered correctly for both of us.

Sorry for slow reply! :-[
With PCC you don't need the powermids but using them gets the wired VCR commander emitters off your entertainment devices!
