The new issue of Mac Life has a great article about Home Automation.
It's informative and a very good read for everyone.
I suggest that everyone take a look.
I want to make it clear that, I am in no way associated with Mac Life, other than as a subscriber.

Hi,
I see that you're a MAC guy.
I just joined the forum and I'm particularly curious about whether the security cameras play nicely with a MAC or not? The ads do not say anything about MAC software and I haven't been able to get an answer from the X10 online chat this afternoon. Specifically, I was hoping to monitor video and command (Ninja) pan & tilt functions from my Macbook Pro via my wireless router.
If you have experience with any aspect of this I'd sure appreciate hearing from you!
Thanks,
Mark

;D Yes, X10 security cameras can play nice with the Mac, but you may need a separate Mac compatible video input device.
As an example. The wireless X-10 cameras transmits video to a receiver which outputs analog video. However the X-10 USB converter does not work on a Mac. In place of the X10 USB converter, use a USB converter such as XLR8's InterView, a PCI video input card, or a FireWire/DV video converter. You may want to do a little research beforehand about these solutions before making any decisions.
X10 does not make any software for Mac.
Here are 2 companies that I know of that make security camera software for the Mac.
EvoCam http://www.evological.com/evocam.html
&
Security Spy http://www.bensoftware.com/ss/
I would suggest that you visit their websites for more info.
If you can't find what you need to know on their web sites, then E-mail them.
I'm sure that they would be happy to answer your questions.
If you need Control software for Mac, here are a few.
