I just got a new computer and tried to put Active Home on it.
First it complined that the drivers for the usb interface (the one that pulgs in,, not the new USB only one) were not there, so I downloaded them and installed them.
I have Active home pro 3.263 and whenever I go to Hardware Configuration it crashes with

Any suggestions? I know that there is a newer version, but everything I read on these posts, said that it was too buggy to use.
Thanks

3.263 is NOT a US issue. The last Us issue was 3.236, which is a known buggy version. Where are you located?

sorry, looks like I fat fingered the version number.
The error report says Application Version: 3.0.0.236
But if that is the "current one" then I guess I somehow got the wrong version (I was sure I had installed the older one).
I guess I'll find the link again and reinstall the previous version.
Thanks for pointing out my mistake!

I installed the older version on top of the newer one and am still having the same problem
when I click on hardware configuration it crashes
Any ideas?

The version is 3.228, there are no zeros. If it crashes, I suspect you need to totally remove AHP from the system including all folders referring to AHP. Reboot and reinstall AHP 3.204 and recreate all modules, then update to 3.228

jfaska,
My first suggestion would be to search for a file named "ICities.xml" (will only show "ICities" unless you have Windows set to display file extensions for known file types (which everyone should ;) )).
It should be found in the "Program Files\ActiveHome Pro" or "Program Files (x86)\ActiveHome Pro" folder.
Frequently a crash when entering the Hardware menu means that file is either corrupt or altogether missing.

The icities file was missing.
I copied it off the old computer, and Active Home no longer crashes
Thank You!

No prob! Glad I could help! :)%

Where were you able to download the older version? I am looking at the FTP site and I am not able to see any difference...
Thanks,
Bob

3.228 is only gotten from 3.204 which is on the http://software.x10.com/pub/applications/activehome/ site.
