Title: Solved: Un-Removable macro with no name.
Post by: bitman on June 28, 2010, 07:16:55 PM
Hi,

In AHP, on the left side menu in the macro section I have a number of macros but the second to the last has no label thus cannot be deleted. Something is turning on A7 between 8:45 and 9:00 each night and I can't find the source. But there is that phantom macro. How in tarnation do I edit or delete it? Furthermore I don't see it in any room.

I don't understand.
I access the macro designer via Edit, Add Macro.
And there I am where I can design a macro.

I'm not sure what you mean by does it show up?

Obscure America reference would be my guess...   ;D

I think a screen shot would help.
Any chance of you taking one?

When I create a new macro.... I name my ahx file with the current date (2010jun28). Then.. if I find.. an error after creating a new macro... I can step back by simply going to the previous ahx file.

in the left tree pane, click on the word "macros"
this brings up the macro designer.

If America is obscure, then I'm truly a child of the 70's.

For really obscure, check out a hit by the fifth estate that charted in '68 (i think); a rock version of "ding, dong the witch is dead".

There is a problem... maybe not this problem... but still. A trash can/recycle bin that needs emptied can also download unwanted data/directions to your CM15A. Always keep your trash/bin emptied.

And so the beat goes on.

I just looked away from the ball game and A7 (garage entry way) is on.

Every night. This is starting to irk me now.  ;D

So have/did you check your log. It would be interesting to see if your CM15A is sending the A7 On... or if your Module/Switch is mis-hearing another PLC.

I will post that section of the log tonight.
I don't know how to tell if it came from the cm15 or not.

Boy would I like to know.

Here are the log entrys for the nightly mystery A7 on event:

6/29/2010 8:57:53 PM Receive A7 (Entry Way)
6/29/2010 8:57:53 PM Receive A On (Entry Way)

So you have a dusk sensor somewhere... turning On A7. Maybe a PR511 floodlight (or maybe the floodcam?) with a dusk setting switched IN. Or an "eye" sensor... with motion set at A6. Or maybe one of those tabletop remotes with the timer (or sensor?).. I don't have one... but thinking of the MiniTimer (http://www.x10minitimer.com/).

Does this sound right (anyone)?

Any A7 A off in the morning?
That would be another symptom of a dusk dawn trigger from a motion sensor on A6

I do have Or an "eye" sensor... with motion set at A6.

It's my Dog back sensor on the back deck. It's at A6 but the dog comes and goes 4 or so times a day and night but A7 isn't triggered. However, I forgot about that Unit Code + 1 thing. That is worth a look.

Thanks.

8:57PM would be just around right on for my neck of the woods at this date...

I have dusk/dawn nightlight macros. Dusk turns some lights On... that a timers then turns Off around bedtime. The timer then turns the same lights back on before we get up... then the sunrise turns them Off. The lights are very low wattage and consume very little electric but add a bit of safety and eliminates the need to turn lights on in many cases.

I have a single keypress (A5 OFF) that shuts off lights on 4 housecodes with a single press.  Everything else is controlled by timers.  The timers and single macro work perfectly.

It's the same time even in the dead of winter when the sun is down at 5:00 pm.
My only defense is a timer to turn it off at 9:05pm.
