Title: X10 on older Mac
Post by: rcdok on July 05, 2010, 01:53:28 PM
Hello, I am an avid Apple / Mac fan / collector.  I have a couple of older iMacs that I'd like to stick in a closet and use as an X10 server.  Is there software / hardware still available for older macs?  I'm new to X10 (ordered my first remote kit today).  Any and all help greatly appreciated!  Thanks!!!
PS If this has been covered recently, please point me towards the thread.   >!

Yes the old CM11A (old "Active Home" unit) has lots of Mac software. Try "Xtension" from Sand Hill Engineering,  http://www.shed.com/ for starters. I used it years ago and it was very good. Made our house talk, back in 1995.

Gee I have a cellar full of real old Macs.
Like my friend knew one of the local school administrators and I got things like LC's; CI's,SI's etc. I said it was old.  :'
