I'd like to see something like a universal gear reduction motor unit.
Have 'snap on' modules or parts to it so it could be used for many things, such as being able to click on a wheel with dimpled teeth that could lock onto a venetian blind chain to open and close it.
Do it with timers (send a single command to run for 'x' seconds), or limit switches built into the unit.
You can do it with a Lego set - why not X10!
