Oh how we want this for our x10 systems. It seems so easy.

But no.

???

It's an insteon thermostat.
I want one that is x10. Not some deal I have to go strap on my furnace.
It seems so easy - brighten would= heat up. Dim= heat down.

Sure I'd fly blind but I don't care.

Yeah, I could use that also. Especially if a "quick tap" of DIM or BRI would change approximately one degree.  Oh well.

Actually it is a standard Venstar T1700; T1800 or T1900 Thermostat with the Insteon dongle in its accessory connector.
I have never checked to see if they have any other Venstar accessories that would fit them and add automation.

Really. That's interesting.

there are plenty of remote controlled thermostats, but I have an icon and don't want another remote.

Have you checked out the RCS TXB16?

Yes I have.

That's why I'm miffed. TXB16 requires some sort of mothership wired to the furnace. That seems highly unnecessary when all I want is to extend my finger oh.... 20ft?

I just need a stand alone wall thermostat who's up and down are x10ed. And under 100.00
Doesn't seem to be a big deal.

It's not that bad hooking it up they're only relays. Either it gets 24vdc fir on or 0vdc for off for both cool. Heat. And fan.

You just take what's hooked up to your current thermostat and hook it up to the mainboard of the txb16.
