has anyone tried using AHP with Windows 7? My home control computer with XP passed away rofl so a cheap purchase was performed and I have yet to install AHP but was wondering what kind of issues I might be looking forward to.

I've been running it with Windows 7 Pro 64-bit for almost a year now.
Make sure you download the latest version of the software, of course.
If you have any of the video cameras, you will need to make sure you have a VA12A USB video adapter. The older VA11A adapter is not compatible with Windows 7.
If you run into problems, let us know here (with as much detail as possible). Someone should be able to help you resolve the issue.

I also have been running AHP under Windows 7 64-bit for about 3 months. Just make sure you follow Noam's suggestions.

There are no major issues with AHP as the others have pointed out!
However if your planing on playing with any of the third party software created with the AHSDK then be sure to download and install the SDK.

what is SDK?
-
Software Development Kit. Used to make and customize software, etc.

Probably not needed by many of the AHP users.

I think you should say "Probably not needed by many newbie AHP users" since Many long time users here have one or more thirdparty SDK created programs which they regularly use!
Many have come to use these programs to make up for what X10 has failed to add to AHP.

So, are you saying that the newer versions of AHP do not install the scripting components like the older versions did?

I'm not sure what is happening same issue BVC had with Vista and some users once they installed the SDK every thing worked.
I've had some users report PcCompanion wouldn't run on win7 the program reported no X10 driver.
They installed the SDK and the program ran.
One of the first things I installed on win 7 was the SDK to program so I never caught it.
Think I'll need to point to the SDK redistributionables (http://www.tuicemen.com/downloads/ahscript_setup.exe) for new Win 7 users.
SO mkgriff you may need this for BVC to work as I know you asked about that in another thread.

The SDK was always a separate install. As far as I know, it was never included in the base AHP install.

Well, up to date, I haven't distributed the scripting components with BVC.
This has only been an issue, so far, with the European versions of AHP.
So, I figured the American versions up through 3.271 must have been supplying the AHP scripting components.
