Title: Start macro on trigger + condition
Post by: cj4331 on November 30, 2010, 09:59:59 AM
I have a motion detector outside that when triggered before 11:00pm I don't want it to do anything.  After 11:00pm and before 7:00am I want it to turn on a lamp in the house.  Right now I have one x10 appliance controller plugged into another.  The first one gets turned on at 11:00pm and off at 7:00am.  The one plugged into that is turned on and off by the motion detector.  I'd hoped with active home pro I could start using only one module and have the motion detector start a macro that would determine if it is between 11:00pm and 7:00am--if so send single to turn on lamp--if not end.  But I don't see this functionality.  Can it be done?

Here's an example.

If your motion sensor was set to B2 and your lamp module to B1:

You could write a second macro for turning the lamp off using B2 off.
The condition stays the same.

Sorry it's taken so long to reply.
How did you get the "If these are true section" in there?  All I can get is a delay.  Your screen shots seem like exactly what I want--but I can't seem to figure out how to get it.  I'm using Active Home Pro version 3.206 which I believe to offer the functionality I want.

Go to preferences, macros, and then click on advanced.  this should give you what you need.  Or if I remember right just click on conditions in the macro builder itself.

I don't have preferences on the toolbar.  But under tools I have preferences then I have a macro options tab but the only thing in it is issue on instead of bright 100%.  I'm afraid I have an old version of the software or something.

Just found out that Advanced Macros is a separate download/plugin to active home pro.  I don't know if it cost additional or not.  I downloaded it but the registration code I was given for active home pro didn't work for it.

Yep, having that would help.  And yes you have to pay for it.

I chatted online with X10 just now and asked for pricing on smart macros.  He said they had the whole bundle of software and the controller on sale for $49.99 and that smart macros alone was that.  I told him I'd just bought active home pro for $35 and he was able to charge me only the difference and send me the remaining software!  I'm very happy with the service I received!

Of course now I'm just waiting for an email with a registration code.  I'll look at it later tonight.
