Title: Email and the message
Post by: vantech on December 11, 2010, 08:53:17 AM
is there a way to add the time to the email message in the email macro...i have it sending me emails when certain windows and doors are opened and i'd like it to have the time with it, only because i'm not sure if the emails are delayed or not on occasion.. For the most part my emails are within seconds of the event

Currently the email macro step does not support any dynamic text such as current time.

This is a good suggestion for a feature to add though, so I will put it on our list :)

I have my sensors send an SMS message to my phone instead of emails that might be faster and it shows within seconds of triggers.

SMS is just a short e-mail message  the email (sms ) address is usualy your (phone number) @( your Carrier)
I created a list here: Sending SMS alerts ? (http://forums.x10.com/index.php?topic=17747.45)

nope I'm using AHP with onalert plugin to send sms to phone.  I have a macro set up when a door/window sensor is triggered it sends an email from
under the advanced functions drop down then I do like Tuicemen says phonenumber@carrier and it will send you a text message instead of email.
