Interesting the way they are controlling the outlet, Programmable 1-16 for PLC but only 1 or 9 for RF (if I read that correctly).

The way I read it, it's pretty much an RR501, but with a lamp module built in, as opposed to an appliance module.

It says you program it to one housecode, it sees all RF for that housecode, relays the RF over PLC, and it can be set to respond to either Unit Codes 1 or 9 for the built in module.

I agree.
It does look like an all address transceiver with an internal lamp module.

Is two way so it can be polled for its status and sends a signal back on the power line when locally changed.

No programming wheels and is programmed by a programming button. I don't think there is a unit 1 or 9 limit like the RR501 has.

LED to indicate when it is On.

Remembers its state after a power loss and restoration.

Has their Intellisense Gated AGC.

After reading the instructions, I don't see the outlet being tied to Unit 1 or Unit 9 only, as the Smarthome "Essential Info" states. So that clarifies things a bit. The Smarthome description has some errors.

But this has X10 design/manufacture all over it, so is great to see X10 making something new, even if branded Leviton with Leviton pricing. I don't think X10 has done much new in the home control realm since the Black&Decker controllers.   :)%

I kind of liked the B&D Master Hub. It had the ability to remember up to four X10 addresses and control all of them with a scene button on the remote.

Leviton makes a lot of neat stuff for the X10 market.  They call their flavor DHC.

In addition to the standard switches (all with AGC to deal with noise), I especially like the 16400 4-button in-wall controllers with LED status indicators, and the dimmers with the LED indicator bar displaying the brightness level.  They also have two-way switches that transmit their status when they are switched on and off (expensive).
