Title: Schedule not working
Post by: RIKIL on January 24, 2011, 11:43:18 AM
Having some trouble with new modules and need some help.

For years I used a CM15A module with a pair of WS467 modules.  This setup worked absolutely great.  What I changed was the two WS467 modules, I replaced those with two WS12A-S modules.

Here is the problem:  the CM15A module (which used to control the WS367 modules fine) doesn’t turn on the new WS12A-S modules according to the schedule I have stored in the CM15A.  I can load the Active Home Pro software, connect my CM15A to the computer and turn the modules (WS12A-S) on and off manually but the CM15A won’t control these with the schedule after I remove it from the computer and plug it into the wall.  This worked fine when I was using the WS467 modules.

I have cleared the memory of the CM15A and reloaded the schedule to it but that didn’t seem to help.  The CM15A is plugged into the same receptacle that it has always been plugged in to.

I am not sure what the problem may be, anyone have any ideas?

What revision of AHP are you using?

Are the WS12A-S new and soft start?

The older revisions of AHP and soft start modules. Wanted them called LM14A lamp modules.
AHP 3.305 has a separate set of soft start definitions and the older style.

I did update it the other day, it reads version 3.228.  The modules are new and they do soft start (dim on and dim off).  How do I get that updated version if that is what I need?

I believe 3.228 was one version that had few problems.
Latest 3.305 is here.

OK, I installed the updated and saw the new version after I opened the prog.  I cleared the interface memory and then downloaded the timers again.  If that's all I need to do, I'll just have to wait and see if the schedule works.

You should make sure that your modules are defined properly, as well.
If you have any non-SoftStart modules, they must be defined from the "old Lamp Modules" category, otherwise they won't respond to bright/dim commands.

Only thing it doesn't seem to do is dim the lights after the schedule turns them on.  I have the program set to turn on the lights and then reduce the brightness to 75%.  Did it with the old ones, not a huge deal with these ones but would be nice if that worked.

If you are using 3.305 use the Lamp Module List for the softstart and the new list of of non soft start lamp modules for old ones.
If you are still using 3.228. Call the new soft start lamp modules a LM14A two way module.

Maybe I am missing something.  Can you tell me what I am doing wrong?  http://img4.imageshack.us/f/14287894.jpg/

What I see in that picture is what I installed in my walls and I also verified the model number with the model number that came in the email from the order.

Thanks.

If the wall switch turns on and off slowly. Maybe a two to three second ramp. You picked the correct module in 3.305.
If it goes on and off almost instantly. Then you should use the choice in the Older Lamps (No SoftStart) list.

I just did a test and was able to watch both lights start, they both soft started by the schedule from the control unit.
