Title: XPS3 Non dimming wall sitch transmit?
Post by: fierodough on April 26, 2011, 07:34:03 PM
I think I made a mistake...

Does the XPS3 Decorator wall switch (non dimming) transmit X10 signals as well as turning on lights etc??

I would like to run macros or turn on additional lights that are not in the same circuit when that XPS3 is manually turned on or off.

Ca I do this? of not, how can I?

Thank you!

No it does not have a power line transmitter in it.
I don't think there are any X10 or X10Pro switches and modules that are two way and transmit a local change or respond to a Status Request.

Some folks have used Insteon or Icon Switches that are two way and send an X10 signal with local changes.
By default they come with no X10 Address in them but it can be programmed into them.
The Insteon and Icon dimmers act slightly different as the use a %dim reply the X10 chose not to use over the extended X10 messages.

I have an X10 address in many of my Insteon and Icon modules and they respond to status requests and send local changes back on the power lines.
