Title: Wired camera recommendation

I am in the process of installing a Q-SEE QSDT8PCRC Real Time Recording PC Based Network DVR PCI-E Card - 8-CH, H.264 DVR and wanted to get a recommendation on a camera to use with this card.  The main camera that I want to start with is to be placed within a small "barn". It is more like a 10' x 10' 3-sided stable.  I want to be able to watch goats while they are in the barn area (day and night).  A second camera will be an outdoor camera that will be located in a shaded area.

I would like a camera that provides a good picture and a reasonable cost.

Any suggestions are appreciated.

FWIW
X10 wired cameras are reasonable in cost, but are older CMOS pickup design cameras. As such they have fairly poor light sensitivity and "surveillance" resolution.. Even the "low light" B&W cameras require auxiliary lighting at night. They do not have built in IR lighting.

I can see that this post is aged.. but I'm going for it anyway...  ;)

fwiw....

I'm new to the cam/surveillance world and still def. learning...

I have a 1 cam setup right now (gonna add 2 more).
I'm using the XX36A cam for the moment, but I am more than happy with the pic quality.
It's an IR cam and it kicks butt before the lights come on in our courtyard.
There's a dark area under the stairs, that it brings to light !! so to speak.
and there is def. some distance to that particular spot.   ;D
(I tried to insert a pic but, I 'spose inserting pics is locked out)  :-[

The XX36A normally is $129 (wide-eye $139) but they do put them down to 1/2 at times.
I'm very pleased with the cam but, there's more I want to do....  Diff. topic tho...
Might be the cam series that you're looking for...
They claim down to .5 lux ... I have absolutely no reason to doubt that performance level !
