Title: Powerline Adapter security.
Post by: lartomar2002 on July 01, 2011, 05:29:39 PM
If I have security on my router do I need to use the security that is avaliable with the poweline adapters? If so, will that not confuse things?

Either you are confused, or I am (which is a common state for me).
What do you mean by "security that is avaliable with the poweline adapters" ??
IF you are refering to the "HOUSE CODE" "UNIT CODE" switches on the modules, thoses are digital address,  NOT security measures. Each module has a address so the powerline signals being transmitted through the home wiring is recognized by the module it is intended for. That said, wireless router can interfere with the video RF from X10 wireless cameras. In that instance it is the transmission frequencies that interfere, not security settings.

If that doesn't help, ask again but explain question more.
