Title: Where can I find the SDK/API documentation for the Vanguard VK77A camera?

There is no specific documentation for the Vanguard Camera.
However If you just looking for commands specific to that and the Sentinel, they can be found in the helpfile.
If the SDK is installed in the default folder C:\Program Files\AHSDK\help\ActiveScript Documentation.htm
(look under radio frequency commands)

I tried that and all I found were the commands "names" without the actual "commands" (if that makes sense)
I need to get the actual commands to someone who is trying to adapt a third party viewer/controller to control my Vanguard camera.

The command to send is "SendRF housecode+ address command name".
The person developing needs the SDK as you need the activehome script file for the commands to work.
