Title: Hanging on loading.
Post by: roguespyder on September 27, 2011, 09:45:22 PM
My device is in a death loop while loading.
It acts as if it is actually starting the kernel, but after a few seconds into 'loading' it resets.

I have tried pressing the reset button.

It has enough battery; it was charging before I restarted it.

I have plugged it in to test if it was the battery.

I have tried connecting it to the computer; it doesn't get far enough in the loading process to activate its communication channel with a 'pc'.

Is there a special button sequence to set the device into recover mode?

Does the device have a diagnostic terminal I can access before the splash screen?

I have had it hang at times when trying to shut it down. The shut down screen shows but will not respond to a touch or the stylus designed to work with it. Forcing it to shut down by holding the ON/Off button eventually shuts it down or restarts it. Works OK after that. It has occured on three occasions. Not sure if that will help. my understanding is that one of the Apps, most likely Search History is the cause.

This is definitely an interesting one. I am curious, was it working before? did you install something new? There are ways to see the console but it isn't something that is easy to accomplish. it involves connecting it via a computer and using the Android SDK to connect to it. There is a program in the SDK called LogCat.
